As much as I love how much Burns has killed it this year
I wish they had more variation in how Burns was used. Maybe fake the blast from the blue line and get a touch pass somewhere at the top of the paint or feed it back inside and work the ends.

The Burns comment makes me think back to the Finals
When the Pens shut down Pavs and Burns, the depth didn't step up to take the lead. Patty came up only in Game 1 and it took until Game 5 for Karlsson and Wingles to show up. We needed more contributions and we didn't get it. Not saying we need to do the whole 'Burns at forward' experiment again, but why not teach him to deke more often or rush in a bit and create a mismatch, just to keep opposing teams on their toes more.

As much as I love how much Burns has killed it this year
I wish they had more variation in how Burns was used. Maybe fake the blast from the blue line and get a touch pass somewhere at the top of the paint or feed it back inside and work the ends.

The Burns comment makes me think back to the Finals
When the Pens shut down Pavs and Burns, the depth didn't step up to take the lead. Patty came up only in Game 1 and it took until Game 5 for Karlsson and Wingles to show up. We needed more contributions and we didn't get it. Not saying we need to do the whole 'Burns at forward' experiment again, but why not teach him to deke more often or rush in a bit and create a mismatch, just to keep opposing teams on their toes more.

I was looking at some stats on Eaves
and this year seemed a bit of an anomaly for his scoring numbers. But at that price, I'm surprised that the Sharks didn't get in on that.
