Long Beach Bombers beat down the South Oregon Spartans all weekend
2-1, 7-4, then 10-3 last night
I fucking love our team, my favorite dman Nick Short had a Gordie Howe hat trick, staged fight too!
I almost got in a fight with one of their healthy scratches because I wasn't showing respect. I straight up asked him to hit me bcuz I wanna know what his coach would do.

We also have a better OT system
5 mins at 4s, then 5 mins at 3s, then shootout.
Shorty scored both the goals in that 2-1 game, the winner being in second OT.
Oregon has the leagues top scorer and we shut them down pretty well.

Like third level American junior, ages about 16 to 22.
Still get lots of imports, but my dude Shorty is locally grown!

Obviously I'm not a scout
But Shorty is an amazing 2 way D man and I'm pretty sure is the highest scoring D in the league.
I think he could at least hang in the AHL soon enough. Really kinda wonder if being in California hurts him scouting wise

I think now that the AHL has a bunch of teams
based in the West, that might make it easier to get some notice for the local talent. Hopefully that works out for him.

Why we don't do this kind of stuff is beyond me. We're too passive, too happy to play around the perimeter. Other teams just stuff it in front of the net and take their chances.

On a 5-on-3
why wouldn't you put 2 players on either side of the goalie and 3 on the outside? The other team will either put 2 D on the players near the goaltender, leaving one D on the outside, which opens up the passing lanes and puts more bodies in front of the goalie. Or they'll put one D on the 2 Sharks low and two on the outside, which opens up the cross ice pass down low.

It is a stupid way of scheduling
Back-to-back is just crazy. This is the only early NHL game today. And it isn't even on national TV. I would think, for West Coast teams, a 7:00 or 7:30 ET start time would be fairer.
That said, we'll have the entire afternoon after the game to do other things.

Hello to all from Newark
I bring news of great tidings. The first period looked grim...as the Sharks put many low probability scoring chances on the Devils net and, to make matters worse, gave up a goal on the Devils first shot...that came via a turnover behind the net.
However, during the first intermission, SJSD fan and I met up to discuss the Sharks and life in general. What followed was a Burns goal (that we unfortunately didn't see) followed by another Burns goal and another one by Jumbo. Once SJSD Fan and myself decided to join forces for the second period, the Sharks have been on a wonderful run.
Moral of of the story, me and SJSD Fan need to be on the same line
