Well

We haven't been scoring a lot of goals this season. The last month was an uptick though. I guess you could argue both sides of the coin that the team is better with Duchene and without Braun versus the opposite. It really depends on how much stock you put into Braun. There are a lot of opinions about Braun, one of them is that he isn't very good when he isn't playing with Vlasic. When comparing with what you get versus with what you lose, I think we gain a lot of offense and someone that wins a lot of faceoffs, which is good for those crucial power plays in a playoff sereis, while at the same time losing a little bit of defense, because I think DeMelo and Heed are better than most people do.

We're up to 9th in the WC

on goals for. So things seem to be getting better. The 1st line needs to produce more, for sure. However, we are 3rd in the NHL in goals against. That is damn fine D (plus, of course, Jones!!!).

Well, you do have a really good reason too

Getting Duchene would be absolutely amazing for our offensive, and giving up Braun is doable in terms of replacement. But I just have faith in our rookies and current forwards to not need another one. But that's just me.
