Preview: Blues @ Sharks
Irbe's Pads 14 January 2017
There’s a hockey game tonight. Wanna talk about the hockey game tonight? Let’s talk about the hockey game tonight.
Last ten games: 4-5-1
Playoffs?: 21-16-5, 3rd in Central division
The scoop: Like life, death, and taxes, the Blues are an inevitability within the playoff race in the regular season. Although they’ve struggled in their last 10 games, they stay a viable contender for the Stanley Cup. They’ve been lead by the scoring of scoring of Vladimir Tarasenko (43 GP, 20 G, 23 A, 43 P) and balanced scoring throughout their roster. However, goaltending has been their ultimate downfall this year, as Jake Allen has tanked this year (17 W, 11 L, 3 OTL, 2.76 GAA, .900 SV%) and Carter Hutton is no better (4 W, 5 L, 3 OTL, 2.88 GAA, .894%). The Blues last their last game, by the tune of 5-1 by the Kings. Irbe predicts 4 GPALZ tonight.
Gud Fenwick: We habe the better fenwick ( SJS: 52.69% is better than STL: 50.88%). Fenwick levels = Yes.
Why you should hate this team: The Blues are the most sad, boring, whatever team that ever existed. They've made the Finals 3 times and we're swept all 3 times. Hell, the only reason they made the Finals in those 3 years (1968-1970) was because they were placed in the shittiest division in league history. The most memorable moment in their history is getting scored on by Bobby Orr. Who cares about them.
Exiting player to watch: That would be the only exciting things the Blues have, and that would be Vladimir Tarasenko. An explosive player with a howitzer of a shot, beware of this Russian when he steps on the ice.
First Gpalz watch: Uhm…. No one! They're all either injured or scratched! WOW! WE DID IT!
Meanwhile, in San Jose: The injury bug has devastated the Sharks defence this year. Luckily, the depth of the organization has covered for this, as Tim Heed has emerged for San Jose. Inconsistency also plagues the team, as the Sharks split their Alberta odyssey 1-1. Joonas Donskoi is rumored out, which leaves a big blow to what seemed like a rising offence.
Go Sharks!
