Preview: Flyers @ Sharks
ChardouglatheUte 30 December 2016
First off, welcome to the first ever SJ Shark Tank Game Preview! Congratulations on being one of the founding members in our inevitable rise to fame. With that said, let’s focus on tonight’s opponent, the Philadelphia Flyers.
Last 10 Games: 6-3-1
Current position: 5th in Metro, Currently in the last wildcard slot
The scoop: The Flyers are currently on a 3 game Western Conference road trip, having started it with a 6-3 loss to the Blues, and will finish it on Sunday at Anaheim. Despite their relatively good last 10 games, they have lost their last two by a combined score of 10-3. So naturally, expect them to have a great game.
Why you should hate this team: Because everyone from the city of Philadelphia is super obnoxious and thinks their city is literally the greatest city on Earth. So it would be really nice to solidly kick the shit out of their beloved hockey team.
Exciting Player to Watch: Ivan Provorov, D. A popular option for the Sharks to select in the 2015 draft, the rookie defenseman made the big club this year for Philly with big expectations. So far he has met and exceeded those expectations, quickly becoming identified as their best defenseman and getting top power play minutes. Offensively he has contributed with 16 points in 37 games.
First Goal Watch: Nick Schultz, D. A 16 season NHL veteran, the 34 year old defenseman has averaged 1.875 goals per game for his career, going the entire 2013-2014 season without a goal. He is the only player on the Flyers this season without a goal, so be aware when he is on the ice, because if anyone is going to score tonight, it’ll be him.
As for the Sharks: A win in their last game which means no matter how much they didn’t deserve that W, don’t expect DeBoer to change his lines at all. Why anticipate problems when you can just wait for them to appear? One big change is going to happen, however, and that is that Aaron Dell will actually start a game. In news almost as monumental as this site becoming (sorta) operational, the Sharks backup will get his 5th start of the season, finally giving Our Lord and Saviour the rest He so deserves. Pray Dell does not shit the bed, or this very well may be the last we see of him.
Go Sharks!
Looks good guys!
